Polyethylene Terephthalate bottles (or “PET bottles”) are a type of clear, lightweight plastic packaging that is commonly used in the food, beverage and personal care industries. PET plastic bottles share many similarities with glass bottles but have the distinct advantages of being both inexpensive and shatterproof. The durability of PET bottles makes them a great option for low-risk shipping, and their hygienic, FDA-approved status render them equally safe for the end consumer. Additionally, PET plastic bottles are recyclable and sustainable. The PET material can be recycled multiple times and fashioned into various containers, clothing or carpet fibers, construction materials, or used in numerous other applications. PET plastic is the most commonly recycled type of plastic in the US, and its sturdy, light, aesthetically pleasing properties make it a very popular and effective packaging option.
